Slow internet speed modem status says 640Kbps max download which I see around 70KBps max downloads which is correct if you do the math 640/8=80, but shouldn't I be getting up to 5Mbps so that would be 5000/8=625KBps.
I have started a support ticket and they confirmed that bell setup the account for 640Kbps download and said they would if I wanted them to request bell to up the account but there is no guarantee, curious to what that means I mean advertised speeds are upto 5Mbps and I know that all depends upon how close you are to a DSLAM or CO but the bell lines coming to the house are brand new and I have had bells high speed before I made the switch and I did have around 4.5 Mbps downloads on it, so I wait and hope that they can have the account upgraded, I ordered Acanac a week ago so i should be good for the refund if it is not resolved by the end of this week, I hope it can be as sales and support staff have been ten times better then bell, but the no guarantee worries me.

well I am using my old Speed Stream 5260, its hard to get the modem stats from it I got my up was 400 and down was 640 via enternet300 and my VPI: 0 VCI: 35 thats all I could find for stats oh and it is the same modem I was pulling in bell with

Nothing on Sync Rates, Noise Margins, Attenuation?
Either way Support can look at the Lantern Data and go from there.

Thanks, ya I looked the modem up online and it supports up to 8Mbps down and 1Mbps up it also has no other status according to users on dslreports available to the user anyway, so hopefully tech support can get the account speed upped the only other thing I can think it would be is that I may be connected to the wrong DSLAM but the ticket is ongoing so hopefully it will come to a resolution,

Got a reply this mourning, here it is
"Unfortunately, as I checked its not possible to change the line speed.
By the way, please give us a call after weekends for more investigation.

I will call support monday, but if it is not the line speed then could it be that I am connected to the wrong dslam on the modem stats from enter300 program it says that I am connected to ottawa base 10 'think theres a - in there somewhere can't remember' anyway I live in Smiths Falls, Ontario which is 65KM away from Ottawa so is it possible the account was setup with the wrong DSLAM or CO, I know bell has a DSLAM in Smiths Falls somewhere but I am not sure about how I would change this, Thanks

and prior to that message I recieved this

"As I checked Bell set the speed on 640M. We can update the current order to check if it is possible to increase the speed but there is no guarantee. Please note it takes 6-7 business days to complete the process. Please let us know if you agree."

curios what 640M means (how fast is that) and that is not being able to be raised in speed

OK I have done some digging and bell is incorrect in saying that my new phone line can only use up to 640kbps which is there essential net that means that they can't raises the speed because bell thinks the line can't handle it but I believe the number has not been fully changed to the new address as far as internet is concerned so how would I go about this talk to bell first to get them to add the new line properly for internet purposes and then Acanac to increase the line speed again,

If you've moved and it's about Phone service call Bell. Let Acanac Support know as well.
Do a tracert and see what your second hop is, mine ends with .acanac.net
Also check TelcoData http://www.telcodata.us/telcodata/telco find where your CO is.

Well did some digging on the net on bells website seems my address qualifies for up to 6mbs, but since my phone line is brand new it has not been fully setup to my new address, called bell and there techs there entered my info and wanted to sell me 6mbs dsl lol, anyway have called acanac and they are getting the line speed looked into if it is good which since I have lived in the house next door and one block away and had 6mbs I am confident now it will be approved, just a little waiting to do acanac's ticket to bell should be back by Wednesday and then they will update the order tech believes by the 16th I should be good, I will keep ya posted and thanks again,

Ok as of today bell has fixed there error in there system and I now qualify for up to 6 mbps, the order is now in place with acanac tech support for 5mbs and in 4 days or less well I am a happy camper :-)
