I am new to this forum and have a new connection with Acanac. I need to configure Grandstream 486. I have confirmed that the service is working through soft client. Also I have used this ATA for another working service.
Questions are:
1-Is there a step by step guide on how to configure.
2-Should i be configuring FXS port or FXO port. The previous working service was working on FXS port. I dont remember what FXO was used for
3-Is there a DNS server address for acanac which i need to input
4-Should i reset my ATA to factory setting and then start again.
5-On STATUS tab, FXS and FXO remain not registered. Also the POP is also disabled.

Any help will be appreciated

O

have you tried accesing the web gui at http://192.168.2.1 and setting up your account name (phone number) and password with Acanac ? If it registers you are connected although you may need to setup further configuration with the proper codec. OR you may just register and be connected.

Can you please keep us updated as to what you do to get it working (if you get it working)

I managed to find the solution. I belive it was some setting, which was incorrect. This is how i solved the issue:

I copied all the settings from the below website. The model is different, however you can find most of the settings are the same.
http://braintel.net.pk/gs486-cnf.html

Then i used the Acanec login/password/SIP info and it worked fine.

just a simple note,

If you come across touch tone issues, you always can change,
Send DTMF: via SIP INFO (instead of default in-audio.)

DTMF = is the signal to the phone company that you generate when you press to dial on your telephone's touch key.
