Acanac will shortly start officially supporting QuteCom Voip Soft Phone client. Aside from QuteCom Soft phone being fully Opensource it will also bring Video and call encryption to all Voip users. For those of you who are interested in becoming early adopters your more than welcomed to download one of the Beta releases at

Do you have any configuration settings for QuteCom? I have looked in your FAQ's and on this forum with no success.

I am on a Linux laptop and did not like how the x-lite softphone behaved/looked so I wanted to give this one a try but I am getting a connection error.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

An OSS softphone would be great, then I can use it on anything I want.

Thanks Fergless... but my other post refers to Twinkle and this announcement was about QuteCom. Is it supported by Acanac? is there an FAQ somewhere on how to set it up? Or was the beta dropped?

Yes I read that, but you're getting a registration time out error from what I understand.

I did try QuteCom, it worked OK, are you sure you've entered the details from your VoIP account details?

These are my setting for Qute. It seemed almost too easy at the beginning.

Sorry for the large image.

Well I downloaded and installed it but I picked up on my previous settings and worked OK.

Problem is there's nowhere to view my settings in it.

Here's how I originally set it up.
    Display name: 647xxxxxxx

    Username: 647xxxxxxx

    Password: U6w5HtMc (phony password)

    Authorization user name: 647xxxxxxx

    Domain: voip5-3.acanac.com or use: 66.49.255.61

Thanks Fergless... but I think you may be looking at your x-lite settings because QuteCom doesn't have those fields available.

Thanks anyways.
I am guessing that the initial post that started this thread never really happened... or else more people would know about QuteCom.

I will try my luck with another Softphone...

Gee..I can't remember, been a while now, but they are the settings from my VoIP email, and can be applied to any SoftPhone or VoIP ATA.

Absolutely sure it's Qute as I made a call with it. And it worked.

Try setting the Display name with your Phone Number. As per the VoIP email instructions.

OK, Deleted QuiteCom and all references to it and reinstalled it.

Here are the settings that worked for me.
