(Tunniler is off!!!, this is a standard web connected PC.)

Using firefox 3.0.10, I enter the address:

ftp://********@nx.acanac.net/public_html/

Then, I enter my my free-online pc password....

Then, a long wait.....

Then, an error window:

Alert:
425 Failed to establish connection.
---------------------------------------------

This used to give me a directory listing & allow downloading.

What happened?

You can also use the SFTP transfer in Bitvise, see if you can get in that way.

SFTP transfer in Bitvise is the only functional means of connecting. However, download speeds are at 25kb/sec average, not the expected 400kb/sec average.

Even the windows 'Add Network Places' -> adding a FTP site as in your online tutorial, fails to do anything at all.

Have you tried to FTP your own online PC account with the Bitvise tunnilier removed/disabled from your PC?

Firefox 3.5.7

I can use SFTP using Bitvise downloading at 500K.

I tried Filezilla FTP and SFTP both also worked at 500K.

Try this: Replace xxx with ftp
xxx://username:password@username.ftpser ... m/storage/

Firefox 3.5.7? I just did a check for updates & my firefox went up to 3.0.17.

I tried the '@username.ftpserver.acanac.com/storage/'.

I never used this address before. I get 'login authentication failed.' Are you sure that this is my NX machine with it's 50gb of files I placed there?

I have not trouble accessing other FTP sites, it's just the 'ftp://***@nx.acanac.net/public_html/' where the problem lies. If I login bitvise tunnelier, firefox will be able to get to the nx machine ftp address, however, only when using the nx machine as a proxy.

Could you check if you can login to my private ftp account while not being on an Acanac local IP?

I just upgraded to firefox 3.5.7. No difference.

The file transfer speed today is 400k/sec.

You're right Brian, I can't get in either, same error message. I'm at an Acanac address.
I had the wrong link, it was for the 100 Gig. storage, but Bitvise and Filezilla work as you already found out. Sorry, maybe email support about it. I'm fighting a flu bug so.........
