Is there a cost for a dry loop?
I can't find any mention of this on the website.

Dry Loop costs $8/mth, unless it's included for free in a promo.

There is no dry loop fee described anywhere on the web site except when you try to order the old 6 Mbps DSL plan which doesn't even show up in the plans unless you enter an address where faster speeds are unavailable.
Acanac is free to change prices anytime, but currently there is no dry loop fees for the DSL 10+ Mbps plans.

Yes I'm aware of that, Tks Zorxd.

Can Acanac change prices even if prepaying for a year?

Well they can change the price but it will only take effect on renewal of course.

Is this true for Jan 2019?

I'm in Ontario, going on 10 years with Acanac DSL 10/1. The Bell line limits my download to 5M, and Bell DSL highest speed plan in my town is 5M. When I opt for dry loop, will I get the 10M d/l? I'm ready to get rid of the Bell land phone, but want to continue with Acanac DSL.

Can you clear up the confusion in the forum about the dry loop fee?

Having a telephone set attached to a circuit with DSL on it has no appreciable impact on attainable speed.

If you'd like to know whether there is currently a charge for dry loop for the plans you are considering simply start the order process and see what the site reports.

I believe that dry loops are free for 15 meg and higher service. I know we pay dry loop fees for some of our buildings with 10 meg service.

FYI - Support says it'll cost $50.00 to set up the dry loop and then a $5.00 per month fee. This is for Ontario with my 10M plan.

Yep things change over the years, since this is a pretty old thread. (Wed Jan 18, 2017)

You can get 15 meg DSL unlimited for $39/month with no dry loop charge and $10 off for the first 6 month ($29/month) with free installation.

So, depending on what you pay now, you might want to order in new service and cancel your existing one after the fact - or just ask them to adjust your existing plan to reflect the offer.
